Generating roads structure of a virtual city for GIS systems testing

Tomasz Płuciennik

Abstract

Geographic Information Systems are computer systems for storing, managing and presenting geographical data. Development of such systems requires extensive tests based on large datasets of actual data. Because of access restrictions it is apparent that artificial test data closely imitating the real data should be prepared. This article describes initial phase of creating a spatial dataset corresponding to a virtual city – roads structure generation.
