Data analysis using rough sets in the protection of architectural monuments

Abstract


The article discusses issues concerning the application of data analysis system in the preservation and conservation of architectural monuments. Due to the extremely large number of historic buildings with highly differentiated state of preservation, made of materials with different susceptibility to degradation, it is important to develop a system to support the work of restoration. In the presented paper it has been discussed the use of rough sets theory to the analysis of data on environmental factors affecting historic buildings. The elements of the system performing this analysis and the results of experiments have been presented.
